How tuition works
We give you the figures in writing at your placement visit. Here is what sets them, and how everything else works.
Three things set tuition: the length of the lesson, whether it is private or a group class, and in summer how many weeks you take. Our figures are on the enrollment page and in your placement visit, in writing.
Lessons of 30, 45 or 60 minutes
Private lesson or group class
A summer week or the whole season
Registration
A registration covers your student file, the placement visit and scheduling your weekly time with a teacher. It is due when you accept the time we offer.
Holding a place
A weekly time is held for you once you accept it and your first month is billed. If a teacher is full we put you on the waitlist, and we text offers in the order people asked.
Billing
Tuition is billed monthly, or by the week for a summer week, through our enrollment page, by autopay or by invoice. Visitors pay for the weeks they book, not for the year.
Withdrawing
We ask for a month's notice before your last lesson, in writing. For a summer week, tell us before it starts and we will explain what happens next.
Missed classes and make-ups
A lesson you cancel with a day's notice is made up within the term, and a lesson your teacher cancels always is. Group classes and band labs are not made up.
Uniforms, costumes and other costs
Ask whether a guitar or a bass is available to borrow for your lesson, or bring your own. Strings, picks and books are separate, and a loan to take home is arranged at the front desk.
